Xepatomenos Waterfall
Spread the word
In the periphery of Korfes village, which is 20 km from Heraklion, is Xepatomenos waterfall.
Specifically, the waterfall is west of Korfes, at the bottom of a green ravine that ends at the Gazanos river. The waterfall may not be very high, but the ample water supply gives a unique wildness to the natural landscape. The area is accessible in spring due to rainfall.
Right after, the Swimming Pools of Xepatomenos follow, where the water has dug into the ground creating small cavities that resemble swimming pools. Finally, a little further down, the visitor can see an old watermill on the east side of the river, which is kept in reasonably good condition.
