Arachida (or as it is commonly known, the peanut), is the fruit of the peanut plant.
The pistachios of this plant are digestible, and their protein is of excellent quality. For human consumption, they are used as:
(a) whole pods from which only the seeds are eaten,
(b) pure, roasted grains, used as nuts and in confectionery and
(c) arachida butter (peanut butter), produced from roasted peanuts (without their perisperm) which are ground and mixed with various substances.
Peanut oil is considered an excellent, for human consumption, type of oil.
