Agios Charalambos Gorge
Agios Charalambos Gorge is located south of Ano Asites, which is 24 km from Heraklion. It is a small but beautiful gorge that took its name from the church at its beginning - entrance, inside a huge window frame. A stream passes through the canyon, which carries water from the valley east of Prinias. From June onwards (when the water stops flowing), the visitors can walk along the stream and enjoy the beauty of the place with its small lakes and imposing caves. Finally, the gorge is the starting point of the European path E4, which passes through the settlements of Kerasia and Venerato and ends at Profitis Ilias.
