Mandaleni’s Oak tree or Drygia
At the foothills of the Kefalas hill and a distance of 200 meters from the village of Korfes (which is 20 kilometres from Heraklion), the oak tree is known as "Mandaleni’s drygia" is preserved.
It is an oak tree of huge dimensions considered the largest in Crete and has been declared a protected natural monument. The century-old tree is associated with historical events in the area. Under its branches, chief councils of the Cretan revolutions against the Turks took place.
