Church of Saint Nikolas
The church of Agios Nikolaos was built in the traditional settlement of Kalesa (Ano Kalesa), which is located 3 km southeast of Gazi. It is a church in the style of a single-aisled basilica and celebrates the saint's memory on December 6th. We do not know precisely when it was built, but it existed during the Turkish occupation. The temple was found in ruins with a building around it, about 1 meter high. With the villagers’ help, especially the Kasimatis family, the church was completed in 1956 and inaugurated in 1964.
