Keris forest is located at an altitude of 300 meters, very close to Voulismeno Aloni and 9 km from Heraklion. It is accessible from the dirt road that starts approximately 300 meters after Voulismeno Aloni. It is an artificial forest with pines and, in some places, cypresses, with a total area of 5 square kilometres.
The forest of Keris is an ideal place for hiking and cycling away from the noise of the city. There, the visitor can find a shelter and benches for moments of relaxation and fun. Finally, in the eastern part of the forest, there is an almost vertical cliff and the view of Almyros gorge is breathtaking.
