Women's Cooperative "Krousaniotissa"

The "Krousaniotissa" cooperative was founded in 1999 in Krousonas, 21 km from Heraklion. It is the first women's agricultural home-technical cooperative in the municipality of Heraklion. Seventeen women take part in it. These women passionately continue to produce sweets and delicacies with traditional recipes whose main ingredients are local products, products such as Krousaniotiko olive oil, wine, honey, nuts and fresh mountain fruits produced by "Livadi", the plateau located at an altitude of 1000 metres above Krousonas, to this day.
