Evdomos Plateau
Εvdomos plateau is located 3 km southeast of the village of Gonies, at an altitude of 780 meters. It is speculated that the name Evdomos is a corruption of "Evosmos" due to the many flowers that exist there. The plateau is used as a pasture by the shepherds of Psiloritis and has, as a rule, low vegetation. The access to Evdomos is from the village of Gonies, through the road that passes through the restored windmill.
Evdomos is divided into two smaller plateaus, Kato Lakkos and Pano Lakkos. In Kato Lakkos, the visitor can find a small mountain refuge (former shepherd "mitato"), as well as a spring under a century-old tree. The locals say that once the plateau was full of pears, which, however, were abandoned and gradually lost. Today, there are only a few scattered wild pears. Also, in the area called Kakarida, there were many partridges, hence the name of the place.
