Church of Agios Panteleimon
The church of Agios Panteleimon is located opposite the Second Primary School in Krousonas (which is 21 km from Heraklion). It is a beautiful stone church hidden behind two cypress trees. The church was built in October 1935 by Ch. Michael Bamiedakis, as stated on the wall slab above the entrance of the church, which was recently renovated. The old cemetery was "transferred" to the new one at Christos Church and was replaced by a playground during its renovation.
The despotic icons of the church were painted in 1936 by hagiographer Georgios Nikolaidis, while the large icon on the iconostasis was painted in 1949 by Evangelos Markogiannakis.
