Psaromoura beach
The small, pebble Psaromoura beach is 22 km from Heraklion and just 500 meters from the main beach of Agia Pelagia. The beach is protected from the northwest winds, making it one of the busiest in the area. According to the locals, the name Psaromoura comes from the words "fish – psari in greek" and "mouri", which means cape.
To the north of Psaromoura, there is a large rock with many folds (from the typical foliate rock of the area), which protects the beach from the waves. A small beach is formed just behind it, ideal for those who prefer peace away from the crowds. The beach is organised with umbrellas, sunbeds and a canteen. Finally, there is a landscaped parking space for easier access at a higher level than the beach.
