Agia Pelagia Beach
The beach of Agia Pelagia is 500m long. and is 14 km from Gazi. It is the centre of the settlement of the same name, which is a well-known tourist resort precisely because of the bay's natural beauty. Its waters are blue-green, crystal clear and calm. In some places, they deepen faster (southern part), and in some, they deepen gradually (northern part). It is sheltered from the winds, which makes it very popular. The bottom is stony in several places and sandy in others. Snorkelling can be an absolute pleasure, but of course, there are many options for water sports, diving, and boat rentals.
Agia Pelagia is an organised beach with sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, and public toilets. Along the beach, there is a sidewalk. There are no cars, which means peace, relaxation, and fresh air. There are supermarkets, taverns, cafes, bars, shops, and accommodation options. Access is easy from the northern road axis; it is 23 km from Heraklion and 65 km from Rethymnon. There are comfortable parking spaces.
