A unique contemporary clothing exhibition, inspired by the Minoan era and Crete's rich textile tradition, will be hosted at the Domenikos Theotokopoulos Museum in Fodele from August 2nd to 30th.
The exhibition is organised by the AthensFashionClub Fashion School, with the support of the Municipality of Malevizi and the Fodele Cultural Association.
The exhibition will open on Saturday, August 2nd, at 19:00. Maria Vytinidou, the school's owner and fashion designer, will give a lecture as part of the event.
Ms. Vytinidou will develop the rationale behind the creation of the exhibition, emphasising sustainable fashion as a core value, as well as the importance of protecting the environment through innovative practices, such as the circular economy and the reuse of materials.
During the event, the audience will be invited to dialogue about personal experiences in the field of reuse, and the possibilities of developing similar actions in Crete will be explored through cooperation with the local community and local government bodies.
Finally, the methods of creating the garments on display and the materials used will be presented to raise public awareness and promote Sustainable Fashion as a way of life.
