Ammoudi is built at an altitude of 127 meters, west of the settlement of Made. It is a small holiday settlement made for the Agricultural Bank employees. At a distance of just 1.5 km from the settlement, you can enjoy your swim at Lygaria and Agia Pelagia beaches. At Ammoudi, the visitor can find hotels, rooms for rent and several taverns with fine, local delicacies. Within walking distance is the settlement of Theseus.
North of the settlement, the beaches of Tripiti Achlada and Ammoudi dominate the area, ideal for carefree moments and for those who love diving. Access to Ammoudi beach is only possible by boat, as the road has been destroyed by floods, while there is no path leading to it. The problematic access makes Ammoudi beach one of the now isolated beaches of Heraklion with pebbles and deep turquoise waters. When you visit it, do not forget to explore its caves.
