Agia Marina Church
Agia Marina church is located just before the settlement of Agia Pelagia, northwest of the beach of Lygaria. It is a one-room temple with blue windows and α red dome built among tall pines. The architecture of the church follows strict and vertical lines, while inside, the decoration is simple. The wooden iconostasis, with the golden decorative details, separates the sanctuary from the main temple.
The small church was built after a donation of the plot by the Nikolaos Papadopetrakis family in 1968. The visitor can see the date written with small pebbles on the steps of the church.
On July 17th, a festival is held outside the church in honour of Agia Marina every year.
