An event of honour and remembrance for the 50th anniversary of the death of Christos Levantas

The Municipality of Malevizi, the Local Community of Fodele, and the Cultural Association of Fodele will honour the memory of writer—journalist and donor Christos Levantas (born Kyriakos Hadjidakis) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death. Levantas was a unique intellectual figure who acted and created in Piraeus during the interwar and postwar years, leaving a strong imprint on literature and culture.
The event will occur on Friday, September 26th, at 7:00 p.m., outside the Domenikos Theotokopoulos Museum in Fodele.
The following will speak about his life and work:
Stefanos Milesis, writer and president of the Piraeus Literary House, discusses “Journey to the era of Christos Levantas.”
Dimitris Krasonikolakis, researcher of Piraeus history and literature, discusses “Brief references to the life and work of Christos Levantas.”
Journalist Nelli Katsama will coordinate the event.
The event's programme will conclude with a concert by artist Yannis Paximadakis and his collaborators dedicated to Christos Levantas and the musical sounds of his era.
