A journey back in time through traditional threshing at Moni

Those who visit Moni of Malevizi on Sunday, July 6th, as part of the revival of traditional threshing, will have the opportunity to experience a unique journey into the agricultural traditions of Crete.
The event, organised by the Cultural Association of the Moni with the support of the Municipality of Malevizi, aims to awaken the older generation's memories and teach the younger generation how they "used to extract the grain from the ears."
The threshed grain will be ground on site in a traditional hand mill to make khontro, while the village women will cook traditional kinokhontro, which they will offer to those present.
The event will take place at Plakalonas, the Malevizi Moni, on Sunday at 6:00 PM; admission is free.
