Malevizio artists' Exhibition on the theme of Democracy-Impressions

For the second consecutive year, the Malevizi Municipal Gallery, in collaboration with the Municipality of Malevizi and the Deputy Mayor's Office of Culture & Tourism, presents "Impressions," a group exhibition of Malevizi artists.
This year's exhibition, which has Democracy as its central theme, will run from May 24th to July 24th, 2025, under the artistic supervision of Eleni Sapountzis, curator of the Malevizi Municipal Gallery, and Manos Chaeretis, member of the Gallery's Supervisory Committee.
The exhibition will open on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
The group exhibition of Malevizi artists entitled "Impressions" was held for the first time in December 2022 with absolute success. With its repetition in the spring of 2025, and with the anniversary theme of the Republic, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Restoration after the seven-year dictatorship of the colonels, "Impressions" becomes an institution, fulfilling a necessary goal: to create and maintain the Gallery's contact with the artists of Malevizi and to present their art and ideas to the public.
The second exhibition of "Impressions" brings to the public the works of 18 artists from Malevizi, who, although they have familiar sources from their place, nevertheless express themselves each in their own way. The issues raised are many, sometimes drawn from history and the political events of the place, oriented towards individual rights, social and gender equality, acceptance of diversity, inclusivity, and the importance of collective experience, solidarity, and free expression. However, the expressive means are also numerous: mosaics, acrylics and oils on canvas, pastels, ceramics, sculptures with papier-mâché and other materials, graphic illustrations, pyrography, collage and mixed techniques, all at the service of the artists who responded to the call of the Municipal Gallery of Malevizi and created original works!
