VISIBLE/INVISIBLE: A Group Exhibition of Contemporary Art at the Malevizi Municipal Art Gallery
Spread the word
n brings together painting, sculpture, photography, video, installations, conceptual art, new and interactive media, as well as mixed-media works, creating a multifaceted and polyphonic artistic landscape.
The artists’ diverse historical, political, gender-related and social perspectives highlight issues that shape contemporary life: human relationships and loneliness, urbanisation, the boundaries between public and private life, self-presentation on social media, the position of children and the challenges they face, as well as memory and identity. The exhibition also examines the role of the artist and the ability of art to engage with, comment on and renegotiate contemporary social issues.
At the same time, the focus turns inward, towards the artists’ inner worlds, personal journeys, memories and lived experiences. The individual meets the collective, while the personal acquires broader significance through works that invite viewers to develop their own relationship with each artwork.
Thus, the Visible and the Invisible are not presented as two opposing and unchanging concepts, but as interconnected dimensions that complement, shift and redefine one another through artistic creation and the experience of viewing.
